Stefaan en Mieke Vanderstraete-Deconinck founded Menin Gate Accommodation for Groups in 2004 with the intention to focus on quality accommodation for groups where groups would enjoy the safe “sole occupancy” of an accommodation during their whole stay . It proved to be an immediate success with lots of returning groups every year. Tour companies and direct booking groups from all over the globe found their way to the Menin Gate Youth hostels. The concept is continuously being evaluated and improved and went from 100 beds in 2004 to 600 beds or 60.000 bednights today and accommodation in Ypres, Haringe and Albert (France).
We keep looking for expansion but also for further improvements everywhere and better experience for our guests. We also invest more and more energy in CO2-neutrality and better waste management. We want our guests to know that if they stay with us their ecological foot print is as small as possible.
